Six carriers raise freight rates for US-Australasia trades

The United States Australasia Discussion Agreement (USADA), a group of 6 carriers engaged in the US-Australia New Zealand trade, have announced a proposed rate increase starting June 1, according to the Shipping Gazette. The group has advised shippers that member lines have adopted a guideline calling for a general rate increase of US$150 (NZ$209) per TEU and $300 (NZ$419)  per FEU to apply on dry and refrigerated shipments moving from the United States to Australia and New Zealand. USADA member lines are CMA-CGM, Hamburg Sud, Hapag-Lloyd, Marfret, Maersk Line and US Lines.
