Essence Group Fiji announces partnership with Farmers

Essence Group Fiji has announced an export partnership with New Zealand retail chain Farmers, with its premium skincare brand Nama Fiji now on the shelves.

Essence Group MD Debra Sadranu said the partnership with Farmers is an exciting opportunity for its premium Nama Fiji skincare brand to be selected by the New Zealand chain as one of its in-house brands.

“We are excited to showcase our Fiji Made premium skincare brand to the New Zealand market and our agent Nama Spa New Zealand has been busy with merchandising preparation to stock Farmers department stores.”

Farmers New Zealand representative Kylie Pistorius also expressed support for the partnership which is an exciting opportunity to reinforce positive collaboration between the New Zealand chain and Essence Group Fiji. “The Natural Skincare category continues to go from strength to strength and the unique ingredients and sustainable harvesting programme in Nama Fiji that supports the local Fijian Island community generates a really powerful story,” she says.

Fiji Trade Commission to New Zealand business advisor Camila Eiras says that having made that first contact between Nama and Farmers, the Trade Commission could not be more proud to finally see the Fijian products launch in New Zealand. “Nama’s presence in the New Zealand market is a milestone for Debra, who has spent most of her life empowering women in Fiji, and her team. The Trade Commission remains committed to Fiji’s trade recovery strategy and will continue providing solutions and platforms to promote Nama and other Fijian brands in the New Zealand market.”

The Nama Fiji skincare product is an antiaging hydration range catering to women aged 30 years and over with a focus on sustainable harvesting efforts that positively impact the livelihood of Fiji women. Sadranu says there are plans to extend the Nama Fiji skincare brand to the chain’s 59 stores which offer the perfect alignment for the Nama Fiji skincare brandcurrently stocked locally in Fiji at reputable outlets.

She added that the partnership with Farmers is a significant accomplishment for the premium Fiji brand and testimony that Fiji Made products have the potential to be marketed overseas by reputable companies who recognize the value and branding presence of locally made Fiji products.

Nama Skincare thanks Pacific Trade Invest NZ for their support. Trade commissioner Glynis Miller says PTI is excited to support the new development. “Through this partnership, PTI NZ strengthens its commitment to Pacific businesses that further the economic and social wellbeing of the community around them”.

Farmers is launching a “Win a Holiday to Fiji” campaign in December for the Christmas and festive season with the valued support of sponsors Fiji Airways, Matamanoa Island Resort, Natabe Retreat and South Sea Cruises.
